Its real advantage across the GTA is one most people never hear about: aluminum panels rack. The rails pivot at the posts so a panel follows the slope of your ground instead of stepping down it. On the graded lots common through Vaughan, Richmond Hill and Aurora, that's the difference between a fence that follows your yard cleanly and one that leaves stair-step gaps underneath. Wood and vinyl panels mostly can't do this without custom work.
Because it never rusts and the powder-coated finish won't peel, aluminum is also one of the longest-lasting, lowest-maintenance options available—which is why it's the default for pool enclosures.

Yes—modern aluminum fencing uses reinforced profiles that are plenty strong for residential and even commercial use, while staying light and rust-proof.
It's the most popular pool-fence material, and it's built to suit the rules. A pool enclosure is the one fence that always needs a permit, and the specifications are strict: in Toronto the enclosure must be at least 1.2 m high, sit no more than 50 mm off the ground, keep vertical members within 38 mm where the rails are close together, and stay 1.2 m back from the water's edge. Gates have to be self-closing and self-latching, with the latch inside near the top or outside at least 1.5 m up.
Those numbers change from city to city—Aurora requires 1.5 m, not 1.2 m, which trips up a lot of homeowners and more than a few contractors. We build to your municipality's bylaw and confirm it before we quote.
On its own, no—it's an open-picket style. For privacy, wood or vinyl are better suited.
